Pros

Aggressive new design; ultra-luxurious cabin; crisp, sports-car-like handling; two impressive and powerful engines; exclusivity

Model Highlights

The Quattroporte is available in rear-wheel-drive S, all-wheel-drive S Q4 and rear-drive GTS trims, and all models feature generous rear seat room. Under the hood, a 3.0L V6 makes an impressive 404 horsepower in the Quattroporte S, while the Quattroporte GTS benefits from a 523-horsepower V8, which Maserati says will power the car to a 191 mph top speed. Both engines are mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

Beyond a more spacious cabin and big power, the Quattroporte advances what a luxury sports sedan should be. S and S Q4 models include adaptive bi-xenon headlights and LED taillights, plus 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, a power trunk lid and power folding mirrors. The interior is trimmed with rich leather upholstery, wood accents, automatic dual-zone climate control, heated, 8-way power adjustable front seats with a 60/40 split-fold rear, a sunroof, a 10-speaker audio system with iPod integration and 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. A rearview camera and parking sensors front and rear are also standard.

To handle the extraordinary power in the GTS, 20-inch wheels with bigger brakes are included. A heated rear seat, exclusive wood trim and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are also included.

The Quattroporte is as customizable as they come, and buyers can option their sedan with goodies such as folding rear tables, twin rear seats in place of the bench, various wood inserts, front seat ventilation, Wi-Fi with mobile SIM, a rear power outlet and much more. Packages include the Premium Package, which adds an Alcantara leather headliner and pillars and colored brake calipers, The Luxury Package, which includes 4-zone climate control, a leather and wood-covered steering wheel, Alcantara headliner and ventilated seats. The Sport 20 Package includes 20-inch "Crono" wheels and sport foot pedals, and the Sport 21 Package, meanwhile, adds shifter paddles, 21-inch "Titano" wheels, sport foot pedals and colored calipers.

Value Writeup

Maserati's Quattroporte is the original large sporting luxury sedan, with a proud Italian history dating to its first iteration in the 1960s. It now competes in an exclusive segment that includes offerings from Porsche, Aston Martin, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. "Carrozzeria" Pininfarina contributed to the car's distinctive shape, and Ferrari provided technical assistance, as well as a pair of stellar V8 engines. In the Quattroporte, Maserati shows how perfectly it can blend strong performance, design, refinement and the highest levels of luxury in an unmistakably Italian automobile.
